​✦Founder’s Profile

  • Mr. Yuan (Leo) is the founder of Bridges Learning.

  • He holds a Master of Engineering and a Master of Teaching with Distinction from the University of Western Australia (UWA), and was awarded the Centenary Mathematics Scholarship for academic excellence in mathematics.

  • He is a TRBWA registered teacher and certified in Gifted Education, specializing in curriculum development for high-potential students.

  • Leo currently teaches at a local high school, where he leads the Enrichment Program and coordinates the Academic Extension Program (AEP). He delivers all Year 11 & 12 ATAR Mathematics courses, including Applications, Methods, and Specialist, and is a

  • Leo is also Facilitator at ThinkTank PL for Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics.

 

✦ Teaching Philosophy

Leo’s teaching approach is student-centered, focused on adapting
learning strategies to suit each student’s abilities, thinking style,
and long-term development. He believes that education is not simply about
raising test scores, but about equipping students with lasting thinking skills,
self-directed learning habits, and a broader academic vision.

 

✦ Teaching Achievements

Leo has helped numerous students achieve outstanding results in selective entry programs.
Many of his students have scored exceptionally well in the GATE (Gifted and Talented)
and Private School Scholarship exams, gaining admission to top schools such as
Perth Modern, St Hilda’s, St Mary’s, and Christ Church Grammar.

His students have also achieved High Distinction, Top 1%, and Best in School
awards in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).
At the senior level, Leo regularly coaches students in ATAR Mathematics Methods and Specialist,
with several of his students achieving perfect scores (100%) in the WA ATAR exams,
and receiving the Subject Certificate of Excellence in Mathematics.

Leo firmly believes that exceptional results are not built on repetition,
but on clarity, understanding, and critical thinking—the foundation of every learning journey at Bridges Learning.

在教学中，他倡导启发式思维训练与结构化建模，
注重“让学生理解背后的为什么”，而不仅仅是“如何做题”。
通过桥途教育，他致力于为学生打造一条踏实、清晰、走得远的学习之路。

Leo 老师在教学实践中成绩斐然，培养了大量在各类选拔性考试中表现优异的学生。

他的学生多次在 GATE（天才与才智教育）考试 和各类 私校奖学金考试 中取得高分，
顺利进入 Perth Modern、St Hilda’s、St Mary’s、Christ Church 等名校就读。

他所辅导的学生在 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 中多次获得
